Stan Brakhage inspirational pictures ...

^ This picture is the finished product of my stop motion animation film, inspired by Stan Brakhage (Video will be up soon )...

I created my own little plastic squares, and added different coloured ink on top, similar to Stan Brakhage's work...
I then with the squares that was left over placed one on top of another to create a layered effect and took a photo of it, I like this one because you can still see the background i created too through both of the squares.

I like these two pieces, because the bottom square has got more ink spread around it, but the top square has little splatters of ink, so it creates contrast between the two squares.

These pieces work well because I put two more spread out ink pieces together, and I think it works well because it merges the two pieces together.

This is part of my sketch book, to show how I created my Stan Brakhage inspired pieces.

Stan Brakhage ...

This link is very useful when Ive been studying Stan Brakhage...

                                           Black Ice...
                                           For Marilyn...
                                           Preludes...

I print screened some of Stan Brakhage's experimental films I Liked the most because his use of colour is so bright and contrasting, it's inspired me to want to create my own little stop motion animation.

Altering Perception's 2...

In the top picture I created another frame and wrapped different materials around it like string, wire and fabric. I then took a section from it and enlarged it onto an A1 piece of paper using drawing pencil, then painted the tissue paper with oil paints, and added real tissue paper on top for a realistic effect; I then added real string and bits of thread to match with the picture I took, I also added collage for the background, to make all the other objects stand out.

Jan's auto drawing class...

This is my auto drawing using white emulsion, black acrylic and graphite, this piece shows my emotions and expression through the splattered paint marks (: ...

Altering Perceptions ...

Life drawing ...

Session 1 : In this session we was focusing on shade and tone of the body, so I decided to use collage and graphite, and I also added white emulsion and newspaper for the highlights on the body.

Session 2: In this session I focused more on the body shape and tone, and we also used a cloth to cover the model, so I used ligther texture such as more highlights using white emulsion and ligther use of the graphite, so I managed to create a piece that you still could see the body form underneath the cloth.

A2 Art - Some drawings and work I did, related to Pop Art...

This is my big canvas I made, copying a photo of some liquorise allsorts, and painting it on some canvas material with oil paints. Then I made the round sweets with farbic sown together with some wool between and then I sown the cirlces on top with a sowing machine.
The image with the 6 same pictures on was created using different materials which I created first,  then the two other pictures on top was created after by enlarging the image and then I  used various materials to stick down first then I painted on top using acrylic paints, or I sown on top.

A2 Art ...(Pop art)

This is my related project in A2 on popart and the history of how the first fast food resturant (1955) started off Pop Art.
